The use of mobile devices has become increasingly common and indispensable in this technological era. The portability of mobile devices coupled with the convenience of connecting to online services, facilitating monetary transactions as well as transferring personal data has necessitated the use of mobile devices for secure access control.
This paper provides a deeper understanding of secured and advanced mobile access control. The paper further explains the three basic models of access control namely; Discretionary Access Control (DAC) model, Mandatory Access Control (MAC) model and the Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) model.
